11.04.16 Hello TOKYO: Airbnb & Don Quijote.

“おかいえいりなさい!”, “日本へよこそ!”, “Welcome to Japan!”, as soon as we stepped into the clearing immigration area, all the warm greeting from the staff at the arrival at the airport have removed 80% of my tiredness from everything xP

It is a strange feeling arriving in the country that I’ve been wanted to visit for my whole life, I even wish I was born to be a Japanese when I was primary school, I even want to become a manga artist in Japan that’s why I started to make my own manga (mostly like mystery detective story like << The Kindaichi Case Files >> or about school life xP) when I was in high school, and also always draw characters from some manga or anime then submit to some competition that I found on the last few page of weekly manga magazine, no luck, of course xP I wish I still have my super random manga but I remember I abandoned it because it’s such an embarrassing artwork of mine hahaha xP Beside addicted to manga, of course I’m a fanatic of anime. xP I learned my Japanese from anime, TV show, movie and TV series, my Japanese friends (even people I met in Tokyo) were surprised I learned it from screen, they thought I went to class or some sort, well, I took it as compliment hahaha xD But the huge advantage that I (most Chinese) could learned Japanese so fast was because their Kanji are similar to our Chinese word so simple reading is not a very big problem to us xD

Ok I should talk about Tokyo haha xD

Taking the bus (The Access Narita) to the city instead of trains coz I got to see sceneries and also would love to see some local JDM in action, unfortunately I couldn’t spot one coz I fell asleep hahaha but the sakura sceneries are enough xP

A Japanese gummy bear!! Hahaha xD

After arrived Tokyo station I took subway to check-in at where I’ll be staying and here you go, my home in Tokyo xP

Let’s browse my home from clockwise, next to entrance is where the kitchen, bathroom and toilet are.

I didn’t bring any of my shampoo and stuff coz they have everything, which mean I got more space and weight that I can use for shopping hehe xD

My first time of using electronic toilet was in Taiwan, I loved it, especially in winter hehe xD

You definitely know what this was suppose to use for if you’ve seen it in IKEA but my host used it for guests to sort out recyclable and non-recyclable rubbish, I reckon it’s quite smart that she came up with that idea xD

Now, the room.

Of course these are not included, they are my stuff except the remote control and hair-dryer xP

The pocket wifi is included.

I got 2 beds for myself hehe xD

Next to my beds are the balcony, no fancy view but I sees fancy super cars drove passed all the time xP

Then the closet and dining area.

That’s all for my apartment I booked from Airbnb, I went to the supermarket opposite my apartment to grab some food. There’s 2 supermarket there, one is Don Quijote (photo above) and another one is Inageya (photo above). Everything in Don Quijote is soooo cheap and almost everything are included tax, I got my dinner sorted from there most of the time until I found Inageya’s food then I went there all the time, their food are so fresh and everyday are different menu, only cons are they’re a bit expensive than Don Quijote’s, but meh, I didn’t regret, only thing I regret was I should have take photos, I only got photos of Don Quijote so yea 😥

Aren’t these Disney characters powerbank so cute? xP

I already know Japanese love to make products looks cute, pretty and attractive but this humidifier are so cute that I wish I could bring the sheep home xDDDD

Check their liquor section out, how the hell people can make up their mind to choose? hahaha xD

Smallest Choya I’ve ever seen, so tiny and cute xDD

Look at this matcha flavoured snacks!! xD

They even have matcha flavoured Oreo, why the hell I didn’t buy them??!! I hate myself x’D

Now the food area xP

After spent almost 45mins at Don Quijote, I finally made up my mind what food to grab, and here you go, this was my first meal 21hrs, don’t judge, I totally deserve these hehe xDD The price was closing clearance price so this meal only cost me around AUD$13 but they are still quite cheap even if in their original price x)

Salmon bento.

Hamburg bento.

Oolong tea.

Waffle with custard cream for dessert.

I was too tired and can’t be bothered to microwave them but they tasted sooo good even they’re cold xDDD

So that’s all of the introducing of the apartment I booked on Airbnb and what’s surrounding, here’s the pros and cons that I think about this apartment.

The cons:

  • IF YOU CAN NOT DEAL WITH THIS FIRST CONS THEN YOU CAN GIVE THIS APARTMENT A PASS: This apartment located at 4th floor, there’s no lift in the building, the tiny steep stairs are the only path to reach so good luck if you’re going with your large luggage, if you don’t have large luggage, just climb real slow on the stairs if you don’t wanna sweat bad xP
  • The noise proof isn’t that great in this apartment so it could be pretty noisy for who are light sleep.
  • You’ll have to sort the rubbish in the correct recycle category. Yea it’s pretty easy, wait until you sort the thing other than bottles and cans then you’ll know why I put this in the cons. 🙂

The pros:

  • 2 supermarket, a 100yen shop, Family Mart (convenient store), salon, dentist are just across the road, 2 cafes downstairs.
  • Super easy to hail a taxi.
  • Subway is less than 5mins walk from the building.
  • For more cafe and dining option you can take subway to Meguro which only 1 stop away, or 15mins on foot.

That’s all for today, see you guys on the next post! Ciao! xD
